Approvals in Waiting for you
A card appears when the assistant is about to do something it must ask about (see Assistant mode). The same card is in the chat, in Today in the web version, and in Waiting for you in the app.
What a card shows
- Needs your decision and what the assistant asks to do, in plain words: "Book a visit", "Change an entry in the knowledge", "Write to Anna on WhatsApp".
- What the assistant will do: the actions in order. For a change to a record, Now and Will be side by side. A new record has "no visit yet" or "nothing yet" under Now.
- Why it asks, one line: "It can't be undone, so you confirm it twice", "It reaches outside Talemo, so the assistant always asks", "It changes 91 days at once, so the assistant asks you first", or "You chose: the assistant asks only about what matters".
- For a visit cancellation that the assistant of the staff asks to make, a line about the client:
"We’ll message the client about the cancellation", or "We won’t message the client: …" with
the reason and "Let them know yourself." It follows what the assistant passed in
tell_client(see Visit notices). - Allow and Don't. Deleting asks for a second confirmation.
The card is a preview. Talemo works the action out without doing it, and nothing is changed until the person allows it.
After the decision
Talemo shows the action once more and compares it with what the person saw. If nothing changed in between, it is done. If the visit, the free time or the entry changed while the card waited, nothing is done, and the card says "Not done: things changed while it waited. Ask the assistant again."
The card keeps the outcome:
- Done.
- Not done.
- Not done: things changed while it waited.
- It isn't known whether it was done, because the assistant stopped halfway. The person checks the record.
"Don't" ends the matter, and the assistant is told the person declined. Who decided and when is written on the card, for example "You decided, today, 14:20 — allowed."
Whose card it is
A card of the assistant belongs to the person who wrote to it. A person who does not have the right to the action cannot allow it: "You don't have access to this action. Someone who has access can allow it."
The online admin leaves cards too. For a visit cancellation it can only ask, and the card goes to those who have the right in that branch. The first one to decide closes it for everyone. The action runs with the rights of the person who decided as well, so it cannot go further than they could. A draft reply of the online admin is a card of its own, with Send, Edit and Don't send. If the client wrote again after the draft, the card says to read the chat before sending.
While a card waits
A run that waits for a decision does not hold the conversation. The person can write to the assistant about something else, and the earlier request stays on its card. The assistant is told which requests still wait and does not make them a second time.
