# Onboarding a new business

The situation: the owner of a beauty studio has never used Talemo and wants the
online admin to answer clients in Instagram. Payment, the Meta window, the online
admin's rights and its mode are done by a person on the web. The rest can also be
done by the assistant or by a program with a business key, after the person has
seen the change.

## 1. Sign-up

The person arrives from the landing page or from a link in an Instagram chat, sees
**Opening Talemo** and the cookie question, and signs up with an email and a
password, with Google or with Apple (see [Arriving](../launch/arrival-and-consent.md)). The
product works the same whichever answer the cookie banner gets.

## 2. Organisation, payment and the business

**Create a business** has three steps (see
[Creating a business](../launch/creating-a-business.md)).

1. **Organization**: how the person works and the name for invoices. The
organisation pays for Talemo, and the business belongs to it.
2. **Payment**: the first top-up is $10, there is no subscription, and the business
opens from the organisation's balance. Without a payment the organisation stays
   and no business appears.
3. **Your business**: **Name**, **First branch** with its **Time zone** and
**Currency of prices**, **What you do** (here Beauty) and **Where we start**,
   the **Client booking** kit.

**Create business** makes the business, the first branch and the kit together, or
nothing. No tool creates a business; afterwards a program with a business key finds
it with `talemo_list_businesses`. The kit brings the roles master, place and
device, three contact categories, the starting booking rules of Beauty and a
starting script for the online admin, and leaves services, resources and schedules
empty (see [What the kit installs](../kits/what-a-kit-installs.md)).

## 3. Services, masters, places and schedules

- The section **Services and prices**: a name, how long it **Takes**, a price and
**What it needs** (see [Services and prices](../booking/services-and-prices.md)).
The currency of the zone is suggested by `talemo_get_zone_currency` and changed
  in **Settings → Branches**.
- The section **Masters, places and devices**: what time is booked on (see
  [Resources](../booking/resources.md)).
- On the card of a master, place or device, **Services**: places and
devices do every service of their role at once, and each master is marked by hand
  (see [Who does what](../booking/who-does-what.md)).
- On the same card, **Set up schedule**: a branch has no opening hours, and until
a resource has a schedule the finder answers **No schedule for these days** (see
  [Schedule of a resource](../booking/resource-schedule.md)).
- **Settings → Booking rules**: the booking step, cleanup, and the confirmation and
  reminder rules (see [Booking rules](../booking/booking-rules.md)).

## 4. Knowledge

The owner writes the first entries in **Knowledge**: how to get there, the rules,
how a service goes, and the voice of the business. Prices and times come from the
price list and the schedules (see [Knowledge entry](../knowledge/knowledge-entry.md)).
A program can only suggest entries, with `talemo_propose_knowledge`.

## 5. Connecting Instagram

In **Settings → Phone and messengers** the person presses **Connect a channel**,
picks Instagram and a branch or the whole business, uses **Open the Meta window**
and chooses the page. Instagram comes only through a Facebook page, so the account
is linked to the page first. A new channel starts in **Only drafts**. A program
reads channels with `talemo_list_channels` and cannot connect one (see
[Channels and connections](../conversations/channels-and-connections.md)).

## 6. The online admin starts answering

The owner or an administrator of the whole business gives it rights in **What the
online admin may do**; `talemo_get_agent_grant` shows them, and until they are
given it answers no one. A client's message becomes a draft in **Today** on the web
or in **Waiting for you** in the app, and the person decides **Send**, **Edit** or
**Don't send** (see [Draft replies](../conversations/draft-replies.md)). When the
drafts are right, the owner switches the channel to **Answers by itself**. Only a
person does it (see [Who answers a conversation](../conversations/who-answers.md)).

## What the launch path shows

`talemo_get_launch` returns eight steps, each worked out from facts of the business
(see [The launch path](../launch/launch-path.md)).

- `services`: an active priced service and a resource that does it.
- `memos`: one entry in Knowledge. `channel`: one connected channel.
- `rehearsal` has no fact behind it and stays open until a person puts it off.
- `first_reply`: a draft was sent or edited, or the online admin answered by itself.
- `own`: a connected channel answers by itself and the online admin is on. The path
  is then finished.

The web and the app have no screen of the path yet. `talemo_set_launch_choice` puts
a step off or skips it and switches nothing on.
