# Paying, and the payment link for Instagram

Top-ups are paid through Polar. Talemo opens the Polar payment page for the
chosen pack and receives the confirmation from Polar.

## Paying

1. Open **Balance and spending** and choose a pack under **Top up**. While a
business is being created, the pack is chosen on the **Payment** step.
2. The Polar page opens and shows tax, if there is any. Apple Pay and Google Pay
   work there.
3. After paying, Talemo's page **Checking the payment** takes a few seconds and
then says **The money has arrived** with the new balance.

If the confirmation is late, the page says that the payment is not confirmed yet.
It usually takes a minute, sometimes longer. The money does not get lost: it is
credited by itself, and **Check again** repeats the check. One payment is
credited once.

If the bank did not accept the payment, no money is taken; a different card or
Apple Pay or Google Pay can be tried on the Polar page. If the payment service
does not answer, Talemo says that nothing was charged and to try again in a
minute.

If the business was blocked, a top-up first closes the minus. The page then says
**Access is open**, or **Access is still closed** with how much is still missing
(see [Low balance and blocks](low-balance-stages.md)).

## Payments and receipts

The **Payments** tab lists top-ups, transfers from the organization's money and
additions or deductions made by Talemo support, with the reason. **Recent
payments** on the **Balance** tab shows the latest ones.

Receipts are in the Polar account: **Invoices and payment methods** opens it, with
the cards and billing details of the organization. A payment can be returned only
if it was a mistake and nothing was spent from it yet; this goes through
support.

## Paying inside Instagram or Facebook

The browser built into Instagram and Facebook has no Apple Pay or Google Pay, and
a payment may not go through there. On the **Payment** step of business creation,
the person has two ways there:

- **Pay in Safari** (or **Pay in Chrome** on Android) is the main button. It
moves this one payment to the phone's own browser by a short link, without
signing in to Talemo there. The person stays in Instagram, and Talemo sees the
payment and opens the next step by itself. A grey line under the button says
why the payment goes to the ordinary browser.
- **Pay here** is the text below it: it opens the payment page in the same
  window, where a card works.

The menu of the built-in browser does the same: **⋯** at the top right (**⋮** on
Android), then **Open in external browser**. This is the first thing the page the
main button leads to says. If the page did not open, press **Copy the link** and paste
it into the address bar of Safari or Chrome. Below it are **Pay here** as text (**Pay
again** after coming back from the payment page with **Back**) and **Back**, last.

The link works for 30 minutes. After that the page says that it is out of date,
and starts with the money: whoever managed to pay already has the money in
Talemo and does not pay again, whoever did not was charged nothing. To pay,
**Pay in Safari** is pressed again in Instagram. When the payment arrives,
the other browser says **Paid, go back to Instagram**; a second payment is not
needed.

To continue on a computer, **I'll continue on a computer** emails a link; opened
there, the payment starts where the person stopped.
