# The launch path of a business

The launch path describes the first day of a new business: eight steps in a fixed
order. The steps are not ticked off by hand. Talemo works the state of each one out
from the facts of the business, so a step that stops being true opens again: delete
the last service with a price, and **services** is open again.

## The steps

| Step | It is done when |
|---|---|
| `payment` | the business exists; it opens only from a paid balance |
| `business` | the business has a name, which it always has |
| `services` | there is an active service with a price and at least one resource that does it |
| `memos` | there is at least one memo in the knowledge that is not in the archive |
| `rehearsal` | no fact confirms it yet, so it stays open until a person puts it off or skips it |
| `channel` | at least one channel is connected |
| `first_reply` | the first draft of the assistant was decided with Send or Edit, or the online admin answered a client by itself |
| `own` | a connected channel is in the mode "on its own" and the online admin is on |

Only a person switches the online admin to "on its own"; Talemo never does it.

## State of a step

Each step is `done`, `now`, `later` or `skip`. `now` is the first step that is not
done, skipped or put off; if there is none, the first one put off. The step also
carries a word for its action: `start` when the work has not begun, `check` when
it has begun and should be checked, `open` when it is ready to open, and `running`
when it goes on by itself.

Beside the steps the path shows the money the business has spent since it was
created and the amount it was opened with, in dollars. Over MCP each of them also
comes in thousandths of a credit, where a credit is one cent.

## Choices of a person

- **later** puts a step off.
- **skip** takes it out of the count.
- **closed** hides the launch card, and only after the launch is finished.

`payment` and `business` cannot be put off or skipped, and a step that is done
cannot either. The path is finished when `own` is done or when it is hidden. After that it
holds the first message the online admin sent by itself and the visit it booked in
that conversation. The visit, with the client's name, is shown only to a role that
sees both visits and client cards.

## Who can do what

Anyone who sees the business reads the path. A choice needs the right to change
the business, as the owner and the administrator have. A choice only records the
person's word about their own path and switches nothing on, and it can be repeated
without effect.

## Where it is read

The path is read by the assistant and by connected programs. `talemo_get_launch`
returns it, and `talemo_set_launch_choice` records a choice; ask the person first,
and with `dry_run` the answer is the path as it would be. The web and the app have
no screen of the whole path yet. They show one card, **Where to start**: on **Today**
in the web and on an empty **Waits for you** in the app. It stays while `services` or
`channel` is open, says what to do next and has buttons for adding services and
masters and for connecting WhatsApp or Instagram, only for a role that may do it. A
step that is done or skipped leaves the card, and when both have left, the card is
gone.

## Tools and refusals

- A new business has a launch path of eight steps, from payment to the online admin answering clients by itself. `talemo_get_launch` shows each step as `done`, `now`, `later` or `skip`, worked out from what the business has, so a deleted service opens `services` again. It also gives `spent_usd` since the business was created and `invested_usd`, what it was opened with, in dollars down to the cent, each beside its thousandths of a credit (`spent_millicredits`, `invested_millicredits`, a credit being one cent), and only for a role that sees the money of the business (`billing.view`): for any other these fields are absent; `finished` when the path is finished: a channel is in the mode "on its own" and the online admin is on, or the card is hidden; `closed` when the person hid the launch card; and, once finished and not hidden, `own_reply`, the first message the online admin sent by itself, with the visit it booked in that conversation, only for a role that sees visits and client cards.
- `talemo_set_launch_choice` records what the person chose for a step (`step`, `choice`): `later`, `skip`, or `closed` to hide the launch card once the launch is complete. It returns the whole path as it is now. Ask the person first; with `dry_run` nothing is recorded and the answer is the path as it would be.
- A step that is done is not put off or skipped: status 409, code `launch.step_done`. Payment and business are facts and are never put off or skipped: `launch.step_fixed`. `closed` before the online admin answers by itself is `launch.not_finished`. A name that is not a step is status 404, code `launch.step_unknown`. A role without the right to change the business is refused with status 403, code `role.forbidden`.
- A choice only records the person's word about their own path and switches nothing on. Only a person switches the online admin to "on its own".
