title: Industry kits
summary: An industry kit is what a business gets for its industry — roles of resources, contact categories, booking rules and a starting conversation for the online admin. There is one kit, Client booking, and the industry only changes its words and starting values.

# Industry kits

A kit brings a business the things its industry works with: masters, places and
devices, services and prices, schedules, time matching and the Calendar. A kit is
installed for the whole business, in all its branches at once.

## One kit for every industry

At present there is one kit, **Client booking** (the key is `beauty_salon`). The
industry does not make a separate kit. The industry chosen when the business is
opened changes the words of the kit and its starting values (see
[Industry words and defaults](industry-words-and-defaults.md)).

The industries are:

- Beauty;
- Massage, spa and wellness;
- Sport and fitness;
- Tattoo;
- One-on-one lessons;
- Other, for a business that named its industry in its own words.

A business opened before the industry was asked about speaks in the words of Beauty.

## What works only with a kit

Everything about resources, schedules, services, prices, finding times, visits and
the booking page belongs to the Client booking kit. In a business without it these
operations are refused with the advice that the owner can install the kit in
**Settings → Industry kits**, and their tools are absent from the connection of an
agent. The **Calendar** and the items of the Catalogs section appear in the web app
only when the kit is installed. The Home screen of a business without a kit says
"Nothing here yet: no kit is installed", tells the owner what appears after the "Client booking" kit, and leads to the kits;
for others it says the owner can install it.

## Seeing the kits

**Settings → Industry kits** lists the kits that **Can be installed** and those
already **Installed**, with the date. `talemo_list_kits` returns the same: every
kit of the product, and when it was installed where it is. Anyone who sees the
business can look at the kits; installing is for the owner (see
[Installing a kit](installing-a-kit.md)).

## What a kit does not do

A kit is installed once and cannot be removed. What it lays into the business
becomes the business's own data: later changes of the industry or of the language do
not rewrite it. A kit gives no rights to people: it names the ready-made role Master,
and the role becomes a role of the organization when it is added (see
[Team and roles](../account/team-and-roles.md)).

## Tools and refusals

- A business works with the industry kit installed in it, such as `beauty_salon`. The person knows it as Client booking, so name it so and not by its key. `talemo_list_kits` shows every kit of the product with what it brings — its roles, sections, settings and contact categories — and `installed_at`, empty where the kit is not installed.
- The tools of a kit that is not installed in a business are not listed for it. Calling one there is refused with status 409, code `kit.required`, and `params.kit` names the kit. Tell the person that the owner installs the kit (see [Installing a kit](installing-a-kit.md)), and do not look for another way round.
- The industry of the business (`vertical` in `talemo_list_businesses`) changes the words of the kit and its starting values, not the kit. Say "master", "place" and "device" to the person with the words of their industry.
